Veteran ready to hit the stage

Fun-loving Brownie-Guider Tracey Rhoades is looking forward to treading the boards in what will be her 27th Gang Show performance at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal next month.

Tracey, 42, who lives in Kimberley, is pictured rehearsing for what will be the 60th anniversary of Gang Shows at the venue. Also in the shot are her daughter, Charlotte, son Thomas and Brownie member Emily Allcock.

A leader with the 1st Brinsley Brownies, Tracey said: “When I was a teenager I made up a wish-list of things to do and taking part in a Gang Show was on that list and it was quickly achieved back in 1989.”

Charlotte, 14, a young leader with 1st Brinsley, Thomas, a member of 2nd Kimberley Scouts and Emily, 9, of Underwood, have all taken part in the shows before.

The quartet will feature in the traditional opening number, Everybody Needs Somebody, in a medley of songs from the musical Oliver! and the finale.

Added Tracey: “Being given the opportunity to step out on what is one of the country’s legendary theatre stages is a great experience, as well as providing great memories.

The show runs from March 11 to 16. For tickets call 0115 9895555.
