Viaduct fall woman thanks rescuers

The woman who fell from the Bennerley Viaduct last month and ended up in hospital with life-threatening injuries has thanked the passers-by who helped her.

Melissa Tomlinson, 27, was found at the foot of the viaduct on February 23 by a dog walker, who ran to get help.

Another passer-by then called the emergency services and Melissa was treated at Queen’s Medical Centre for her injuries, described as critical at the time.

“Without them I would be dead,” said Melissa, of Mansfield. “I just want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Melissa wants to thank her rescuers personally. Call the Advertiser on 0115 9446160.
