Wind farm exhibitions
Developers are due to reveal the latest updated plans for a wind farm during two public exhibitions after residents raised concerns the windmill-style turbines could be noisy and an eyesore.
Banks Developments aims to create the Losk Lane wind farm between Palterton, Glapwell and Stoney Houghton and is holding exhibitions this month with a chance for villagers to further discuss plans.
Palterton said the proposal for three, 125m high turbines, could turn a rural area into a noisy eyesore.
But the Barlborough developers argued noise can be controlled.
The scheme aims to provide 7.5megawatts of renewable energy per year to power 4,000 local homes and businesses without harmful greenhouse gases.
A planning application is due to be submitted to Bolsover District Council by April.
Exhibitions will be held at Glapwell Community Centre, from 3pm to 7pm, on Wednesday, March 17, and during the same times, the following day, at Palterton Community Centre.
