Yobs wreaked havoc at a Nuthall park flooding the toilet block with water and sewage and councillors say they are at the end of their tether with the constant anti-social behaviour.

Youths plastered toilet paper all over the walls and ceiling of the new toilet block at the Basil Russel Playing Field before leaving it to flood and councillors say it has to stop before any more money is spent at the site.

It is the latest in a string of incidents at the park.

Children’s play equipment has been set on fire, thieves have tried stealing the new bike rack and jubilee decorations were stolen just six hours after being put up.

More than £50,000 was spent in total on the park last year and a further £60,000 is being spent next year and Nuthall Parish councillors say the anti-social behaviour has to be brought under control.

Council vice chairman Derek Burnett branded those responsible ‘mindless morons’ and council clerk Sue Stack said the park will have to close when it is not being supervised if problems persist.
