CHAOTIC parking at a school in Eastwood is putting children’s lives at risk according to local people.

Mrs Sainsbury also revealed children at the school are in the process of creating posters for the school gates to alert people to the safety issues and parking problems.

“We are very frustrated about it,” she said.

“We have residents coming to us saying they are blocked in their driveway and they can’t get out.

“One of the problems is people pulling in to the car park at the front of the school.

“Not only are children continually walking across, but it’s reserved for staff. We have to have somebody now stand on the gate entrance each morning.

“We just want parents to either walk to school, or set off a bit earlier and park further away in the surrounding estate where there are no traffic issues.”

Cllr Forrest added: “These people just park wherever they can and there needs to be more consideration.”

“As a responsible parent everybody needs to be thinking. They should park down the road and walk up rather then stopping somewhere impeding a junction.

“People are getting cheesed off with it. Something’s got to be done or a kid is going to get run over.”
