A nursery in Kimberley has been branded ‘outstanding’ by Offsted inspectors.
Auditors said Cherubs Day Nursery in High Street was ‘exceptional’ and the children’s behaviour was ‘outstanding’.
Manager Rachael Hornby said: “We’re very excited about it and we’ll be going out to celebrate. We’re very proud.
“It’s a very nice feeling for the staff team to know all their hardwork has been recognised and we are providing such high standards of childcare.
Offsted inspectors said the environment at the nursery was ‘remarkable’ the nursery offered a ‘wealth of opportunity’ for children to learn and develop in confidence and self-esteem.
Inspectors called the team of staff at the nursery ‘enthusiastic, highly motivated and very knowledgeable’.
“Children are creative and highly motivated because practitioners know how to engage their interest and are ‘highly skilful in extending their learning”, they said.
The report went on to say that staff were led by an ‘inspirational, enthusiastic and competent’ manager.
Ms Hornby said the secret was to ‘listen to the children’ and said the staff were always trying to improve the way they do things.
“We listen to the children’s voices and encourage them so that it’s a positive experience for them.
“We are always thinking how we can deliver things in a different way and thinking how we can improve.”
Ms Hornby said since the last inspection four years ago when the nursery they was rated ‘good’, key focuses have been on improving the environment and staff training.
