COMMUNITY is the watchword of The Lytham St Annes Express.

So when it came to selecting a square for your favourite weekly newspaper to be featured on the Fylde Coast’s very own Monopoly board - there was no hesitation.....it just had to be Community Chest!

Editor Steve Singleton explained: “The Express is proud of its heritage and record of service - we are 112 years old this month - and have remained constant to our original aims of serving the community.

“When the chance came up to feature on the new Monopoly board, Community Chest was the automatic choice.”

Fylde Mayor Coun Liz Oades wholeheartedly agreed and lent her support to unveil the new Express artwork for the Fylde Coast board which is officially launched in Blackpool later this month, in time for Christmas.

The game – which hits shop shelves on October 27 – will see more than 30 famous Fylde landmarks – including Blackpool Tower and Lytham Hall – in place of the likes of Old Kent Road and Park Lane.

Some of the squares are being kept under wraps until the game game unveiled, including which Fylde icon has grabbed the top ‘Mayfair’ spot.

Look out for your chance to win a prize copy of the Blackpool and Fylde Coast eiditon of Monopoly in your Express. Coming soon!
