Extension to meet demand

The Horse and Groom pub in Moorgreen has had an extension, offering a bigger eating area for its customers.

Anthony Cooper, the manager at the popular pub, said the extension – built due to customer demand – looked great.

“It feels like it’s always been there and it’s really in-keeping with the pub,” he said.

“We’ve had some great feedback about it.

“We were so busy we couldn’t physically fit anymore people in. It’s a really popular pub, we were finding we were having to turn people away because of space.”

The pub serves tradtional pub food such as fish and chips and sausage and mash, and specials including seabass.

The Horse and Groom is open from 11am until 11pm Sunday to Wednesday, and 11am to midnight Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Food is served daily, 11am until 10pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

One course is offered for £5.95, two courses for £7.95 and three courses for £9.95.

There’s a quiz night every Tuesday and a quiz and Play Your Cards Right every Thursday.

“It’s nice for all the community to come together,” said Mr Cooper.

“That’s what we are all about, enhancing community spirit.”

Mr Cooper, 37, said he had ‘fantastic’ staff who always made customers feel welcome.

The assistant manager, James Clifford, has worked there for 15 years.
