A Christmas fair was held in Nuthall to help fund a trip to Nepal.
The Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade in Nuthall have teamed up to raise funds for a special trip to Nepal where the two groups will live and work with the local community.
They have to collectively raise £20,000 for the trip next August and the festive fair boosted funds by £850.
Held at Nuthall’s Temple Centre, there were stalls selling arts and crafts, jewellery, cards, gifts and chocolates. There was also a Santa’s grotto, a Chinese auction and cookery lessons.
The group will work in an orphanage and teach music dance and drama in local schools.
Group leader Peter Bales said: “We are excited at being involved in this fantastic opportunity. Our aim is to enrich the lives off vulnerable and underprivileged people.”
