Families have fun at the town’s play day

CHILDREN enjoyed a variety of activities and workshops at the town’s annual play day last week.

Despite the rain, families turned out for the popular event at Eastwood Comprehensive School, hosted by Broxtowe Borough Council.

There was a climbing wall, petwise zoo, circus skills, drumming workshops, BMX workshops, arts and crafts and face painting.

Pinxton Puppets Theatre Show and puppet making workshops were back by popular demand and there were special activities put on for the under fives.

Eastwood Mayor Ken Wodhead was at the event, along with the Broxtowe Mayor Jacky Williams.

He said: “Not as many people turned out as we expected because the weather was disappointing, but the people who came enjoyed it.

“There were plenty of events on and there was plenty to do.

“It was still a good day and everybody enjoyed themselves.”
