A family-run business has been nominated for a prestigious accolade.

Solos Consultants, run by a family from Nuthall, has been shortlisted for a Family Business Award 2013.

The recruitment agency is marking its tenth anniversary this year and staff celebrations will be bigger than ever if they win the award.

Solos Consultants was set up by Shaun and Lee Witts and their two wives, Helen and Nicki. The brothers’ mother is the accountant, and one of their daughters also works there.

Helen said: “It’s very exciting. It’s fantastic to have recognition like that and it’s come at a great time with it being our tenth anniversary.”

Solos Consultants based in Basford has been shortlisted alongside five other firms in the small family business category.

Helen put the award nomination down to several factors.

“I think it’s to do with our working practices, the work we do for charity and the staff training and development.”

The company, which has its headquarters in Basford has raised money for the Ryan Lee Trust and Comic Relief.

The team of directors did a presentation to a judging panel on Wednesday this week, and will find out if they are the winners at a black tie do in November.

The Witts set up another company, Solos Residential Lettings, two years ago.
