Fantasy fun for kids at arts festival

A vintage fire engine was one of the features at a ‘fantasy fun day’, held as part of the Eastwood Arts Festival.

The theme ‘who will you be for the day?’ invited children to use their imagination and come along to the DH Lawrence Centre as their favourite fantasy figure.

There was have-a-go crafts, a themed trail and bouncy castle, as well as a fancy dress competition and a chance to win prizes.

Other festival events to still look forward to at the Lawrence Centre include animal-themed art and craft workshops (August 6 7 and 8), knights and damsels-themed arts and craft workshops (August 13, 14 and 15) and under the sea-themed arts and crafts on August 20, 21 and 22.

Admission to the arts and craft workshops is free for DH Lawrence Heritage Annual Members, which is available for just £5 a year providing free entry and discounts to a host of workshops and events throughout the year. A £1.50 charge applies to some events.

Entry for Junior Broxtowe Leisure Card holders is between £2.15 and £2.55. Additional charges apply for non-DH Lawrence Heritage annual members. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The first accompanying adult gets in free,
