A YOUNG Brinsley farmer has been honoured for her ‘outstanding performance’ on a farm during her placement year at a college in Shropshire.

Megan Taylor, 22, received the first prize award for her work at AJ Walker, a dairy farm in Buckinghamshire where she worked in her third year.

Megan, who is studying agriculture at the Harper Adams University College said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic and shocked, but also very proud.”

The award winner said she wanted to rear heifers at home and sell them onto other dairy farms as ‘fresh-calved heifers’.

Natwest Placement Award’s take place every year. The bank awards cash prizes for first, second and third places.
