FIREWORK parties were held in Giltbrook and Kimberley to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night last weekend.
Teachers at Kimberley Primary School and Gilthill Primary School organised displays and a bonfire party was put on at Kettlebrook Lodge by the Kimberley Scouts.
Gilthill Primary raised £700 through their event.
PTA member Sam Roper said: “It was absolutely brilliant. We had over 400 people and the fireworks were out of this world.
“Everyone said they had a wonderful evening. The kids were shouting and screaming – they had a whale of a time.”
Kids made lanterns for the event and there was a best dressed guy competition that was won by brother and sister Evie and Charles Gilbourne.
It was the 24th year the Kimberley Scouts have held a bonfire party and disco at Kettlebrook Lodge. Next year they are planning a big celebration to mark the 25th year.
The group made over £1,000, which will go towards the upkeep of Kettlebrook Lodge.
