Costa Coffee has opened its doors to a new store in Eastwood – and readers of the Advertiser can enjoy a free coffee to celebrate.
The new store, on Nottingham Road, Eastwood, was due to open its doors at 7.30am today, Friday, February 12.
The new store has created 10 jobs in the town and Sham Ramparia, Costa franchisee, said the applicants were a good mixture of people.
He said: “The employees we have hired are all local people from around the area.
“And we have a good mixture of students to people who have taken a career break to have children and are now wanting to come back to work.
“We have people from all different backgrounds and age range.”
And Sham said he is expecting the store to be busy as there are a lot of Costa card holders living in the area.
He said: “We have got a lot of registered Costa card holders living in the catchment area.
“It has taken us a long time to get into Eastwood.
“The unit was empty for quite some time and they wanted us to take it.
“It will be a little oasis for people to come in and take a break from the high street.
“The property is narrow, but it goes back a long way – it will be a nice environment.
“I have been speaking to all the businesses nearby and they want a store of opportunities to come in.
“They think it will help attract more people into the town.
“I have seen it happen when I have opened other stores all around the Midlands and I have seen the footfall improve.
“A lot of other brands have pulled out of the town, so people are really excited about us opening.
“Everyone’s been brilliant.”
