A FUNDRAISING group in Brinsley has dissolved because committee members were struggling to juggle the commitment with full-time jobs.
The Village Volunteers will no longer raise money for Brinsley groups and charities, but three committee members have set up a new group, covering a wider area, called ‘Communities Against Poverty’.
“Rather than have monthly meetings, we will suggest events and if we can do them we will do,” said group member Angela Smith.
The group’s first event will be an indoor market on October 22 at the Dora Philips Hall in Eastwood where there will be cakes, jewellery, handmade soap and crafts. Funds will go to groups such as those who have lost out on council funding.
