Fundraising for soldiers

EATS ‘n’ Treats cafe in Eastwood is fundraising for the march of the Royal Engineers through the town next month.

The cafe intends to host a fun day on the Bank Holiday, May 5, and sell cakes for the week leading up to the march on May 12.

The fun day, in the cafe garden, will include a plant sale, face painting, balloon modelling and a tombola and staff are appealing to members of the public to donate tombola prizes.

People can drop them in to the cafe.

The Royal Engineers are marching through the town to exercise their Freedom of the Borough, awarded to them in 2010.

Eastwood Town Council is planning a big celebration to mark the event.
