TEACHERS at Aldercar Community Language College have decided to strike for another five days.
Last minute talks failed to stop more than 20 teachers walking out for three days last week over what they described as the ‘unnecessary’ compulsory redundancy of a colleague.
And now they are set to strike again on Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd, Tuesday 8th, Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th November.
According to union bosses, the college appointed several teachers since the redundancy procedure began, including one in the same department as the union member affected.
Dave Wilkinson, NASUWT national executive member, said: “If the governors can get away with treating teachers in this way, then support staff could also easily be next.”
