If your new year’s resolution is to get fitter, cycling charity, RideWise, in partnership with Broxtowe Borough Council, are offering free cycle training and guided rides for residents of Broxtowe Borough.

Sessions are held weekly at Broxtowe based cycle centres during the week and weekends.

RideWise qualified cycle instructors provide advice, training, bike loans and information about routes and journey planning, as well as a weekly bike ride.

The sessions are also ideal for those who usually travel by car to work or college, who want to ‘get on their bikes’ and save on commuting costs.

With a friendly informal approach, some skills taught include learning about road positioning and how to be seen by traffic, tips for cycling at night-time or in bad weather, cycle safety, clothing and other equipment.

The Eastwood cycle centres is based at the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre. Other centres in Broxtowe include Beeston and Stapleford

Training is suitable for adults and children from five-years-old and is free to residents of Broxtowe Borough and the led rides are free for anyone.
