Witches, wizards, spooky skeletons and ghostly ghouls were out in force at Kimberley Town Council’s fourth annual family Hallowe’en party.

More than 150 people attended the event at the parish pall which was appropriately decked out in true Hallowe’en style by local volunteer Denise Smith.

Hosted by Kimberley Town Council chairman Jim McDonald, and co-ordinated by Cllr Mary McGuckin, the fun-packed celebration was notable for its friendship.

Playing his part in the Hallowe’en party’s success was music DJ Andy Tibbitts whose choice of music and rapport with the children was spot on.

Outrageous costumes in keeping with the occasion caught the eye while a variety of food and soft drinks, games and competitions with prizes, added to the enjoyment of the community event.

Cllr McGuckin said: “It is the first time this event has been free but judging by the turnout and the feedback from members of the public our efforts have been worth it.”
