Giltbrook: recycle your Christmas tree

Residents are being reminded to recycle their real Christmas trees this year rather than send them to landfill.

As part of the county council’s Treecycle campaign, trees will be shredded for composting or chipped for use in parks and gardens.

For every 50 tonnes of Christmas trees and other garden waste sent for recycling in January, waste management contractor Veolia will donate £100 to The Ear Foundation.
Giltbrook recycling centre is open from 8am to 4pm.
