Guides hold event to pay for travelling trip

EasTWOOD Guides are holding a fundraising event to help pay for a trip travelling around Europe.

The group will hold a coffee and craft event to help pay for the girls to go inter-railing for a week visiting Venice and Verona in Italy and Innsbruck and Munich in Germany.

The 1st Eastwood Guides estimate the trip will cost £700 per person.

Group leaders say they went on a similar trip when they were younger.

Emma Glebocki said: “We all enjoyed ourselves so much and learnt such a lot that we are determined to offer this opportunity to other teenagers.”

The event on April 16 will be held at the Eastwood Girl’s Centre on Wood Street and there will be cards, knitting, jams, soft furnishings, jewellery and plants, as well as refreshments.
