A RESIDENT at Moorlands Nursing Home in Brinsley has celebrated her 90th birthday.
Hilda Fletcher celebrated the milestone last Sunday with a party for 21 friends and family.
Staff at the home made her a birthday cake, and put a buffet on for the guests, who included four generations of her family.
Her son Peter, who lives in Moor Road, Brinsley, said: “It was very enjoyable. The sun shone and all the relatives enjoyed it.”
The home’s support manager Jayne Newbutt said: “It went very well. There was quite a few people there and they had brought lots of photos from her past which was lovely. You could see when she was a girl playing badminton and on holiday with her husband.”
Care assistants at the home bought her flowers, chocolates and toiletries and her family bought her a new suit, which she wore on her special day.
Hilda has been a resident at Moorlands since 2005 and previously lived in Plain Spot Road, Brinsley.
She has two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
