Housing changes to offer choice

changes to the way social housing is allocated have been introduced to offer people more choice.

Homesearch will see the Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe boroughs change the way social housing, private rented properties and houses available for shared ownership are made available.

Rather than applicants waiting to be allocated a new home, properties will be advertised and applicants will express an interest or put in a ‘bid’.

All available properties will be advertised on a fortnightly basis on the online property shop, as well as in council offices and local libraries.

Applicants will then have the opportunity to come forward with their ‘bid’ via the Homesearch website, in person at their local council office or by telephone, post or text message.

Call Broxtowe Borough Council on 0115 917 7777 for more information.
