A new tattoo studio with an ultra-modern twist has opened its doors in Langley Mill.
Dezired Inkz, at 47B Cromford Road, is a vintage studio which offers contemporary styles with the high-tech help of a computerised design system.
Owner Adam Jones, who has worked in an Ilkeston tattoo parlour for the last seven years, says he has tattooed all sorts of different people aged18 to 76.
He said: “My oldest client is a lovely little old lady from Ilkeston! I have tattooed people from all walks of life: judges, a solicitor and even police officers. Everyone is welcome to come down and get a feel for the place.
“I am an all-round tattooist. I like old-school design, which is very popular at the moment - it is coming back. I do a lot of faces and a lot of abstract designs and specialise in black and grey work. I also undertake one-off pieces and custom designs.”
He is confident he can cover up virtually any old or unwanted tattoos, saying “there’s always a way around things.”
Adam, 35, of Loscoe, says his wife Kaley has given him vital support which helped him take the plunge with the new venture.
He added: “Tattoos have become massive over the last five years - it’s become more socially accessible because of footballers and celebrities. I am covered in tattoos myself and don’t have much room left!”
A launch party on Friday, January 3, attracted nearly 200 people as well as Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills, who promised to Tweet about the new venture. Adam is assisted by Kaley, who will be managing the studio, receptionist Lance Fretwell and apprentice Mark Naylor.
Piercings will also be offered in the future. Opening hours are from Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, and on Thursday until 8pm. The studio will open late by appointment. Call 01773 711633 or email@example.com.
