It’s National Baking Week, the nation’s chance to get together and share our passion for baking.
Baking is a great way to indulge yourself, friends and family, but thanks to The National Autistic Society’s FestiviTea campaign, baking can also be a way to rally together in your local community and make a difference for people affected by autism.
So to mark baking week, we are asking people to get inspired and start planning their very own FestiviTea cake and tea party in aid of autism for this upcoming festive period.
Christmas can be a very busy and stressful time for all of us, but it’s especially difficult for the half a million people affected by autism, who can often become confused and frightened by sudden changes of routine, unusual foods and new social activities.
FestiviTea Parties are a wonderful way to help by raising money for an excellent cause and at the same time having a great time with friends and family.
With two months to go and Christmas approaching fast, now is the perfect time to get inspired – why not use baking week to practice making some of your party treats? You can visit www.festivitea.org.uk to register for a fundraising pack and find some fantastic recipes to help you get started.
A successful FestiviTea Party requires just a few simple ingredients: friends, family, colleagues or neighbours, and plenty of helpings of tea and cake. You will have a great time, whilst raising vital funds for people affected by autism.
Thank you and happy baking.
