Joyriders write off a parked car

Joyriders in Langley Mill crashed a stolen car into a parked vehicle, writing it off.

The thieves took the Ford Focus from Bella Close just after midnight last Sunday, and crashed it into a vehicle in Edward Street at 3am after joyriding it around the town for three hours.

Now police are hoping people may recall seeing the car that night - or even have noticed the burglary or the crash.

The Focus owner was woken by her dog barking. She found the front door wide open and her car gone.

A neighbour told police he heard tyres screeching at 12.30am and got up to see a car ‘racing down the street’.
