CHILDREN were given mugs to paint as a prize for having the best attendance in school.
Pupils in the Robins class at Brookhill Leys Primary School got 97.2 per cent attendance last term – the best in the school.
And teachers rewarded them with mugs to paint and take home.
School clerical assistant Tina Harvey said: “We do this every term but have only just started handing out prizes. It will give them more of an incentive and make classes want to win now. That’s the idea behind it.”
Teachers also hand out attendance certificates and stickers on a weekly basis.
Ms Harvey said the Robins had done a good job painting their mugs.
“They all looked really good,” she said.
