NURSERY children were encouraged to get creative for an Easter bonnet competition.
Toddlers at Hempshill Primary School and Nursery in Nuthall donned their festive head gear in a parade for a special Easter bonnet competition, judged by headteacher Helen Ridge.
The children, who used everything from little eggs to paper chickens and butterflies to decorate their hats, paraded their creations around the classrooms in front of teachers and parents and the winners received an Easter egg.
One of the teachers played the piano and the kids sang their hearts out to all of their favourite songs.
Mrs Ridge said: “So much hard work and imagination went into the making of the bonnets. They were great.”
The competition involved the nursery children and some children from year one of the school.
The school is in Hempshill Vale.
