The head of a local charity that supports children with brain tumours and other cancers has hailed their latest event as ‘magical’ after the final amount raised has been confirmed as £1,502.00.
Hundreds of people across town turned out to support the Ryan Lee Trust at The Kimberley Jam, a day of live music held at pubs all throughout Kimberley on Saturday June 21, leaving venues bursting at the seams with people.
It has now been confirmed that the event raised more than £1,500 for the trust, which was set up by Deb and Shaun Lee after their son Ryan died at the age of 15 from multiple brain tumours.
After the final figure was confirmed, Deb hailed the support the charity received as part of the event, and described the amount raised as amazing.
She said: “Everybody pulled together for the event and it has just been magical, I am so proud of everybody involved. The event was absolutely fantastic, it was more than great, everybody in the community has been going on about how good the night was.”
