Kimberley’s Bonfire Night celebration was a success, making the town’s Scout group £700 to help towards its running costs.
The 2nd Kimberley Scouts Bonfire and Fireworks event was held last Saturday at Kettlebrook Lodge, and hundreds of people turned out despite rain earlier in the day.
The profits raised will go towards the upkeep of Kettlebrook Lodge – the home of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
Elsewhere, Hallowe’en parties were held with kids dressing up to mark the occasion. A spooky disco was held at Springbank Primary School in Eastwood where there was a fancy dress competition as well as hot dogs and sweet treats on offer. Awsworth dance group Team Revolution also marked Hallowe’en with outlandish outfits, games and competitions.
