Scout Kyle Harwood is celebrating landing the highest honour a Scout can achieve – the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
The 12-year-old, from Heanor, is a member of the 1st Erewash Scout Group, which meets at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Langley Mill.
Kyle has spent the past two years working towards the award, completing nine challenge badges, with activities including camps and cooking.
A spokeman for his Scout group said: “The Chief Scout’s award is a hard award to achieve and takes a lot of time and effort.
“There is so much do and be involved with, so to complete the award in two years is a fantastic achievement.”
