Eastwood Ladies Probus Club has been presented with a cheque by Broxtowe Borough Council.
The group was given £100 by the council Mayor, Cllr Pat Lally and his wife, Mayoress Lynda Lally.
Honorary secretary Maree Smith said: “We really are very grateful.”
The club applies for £100 funding from the borough council and Eastwood Town Council every year to help with running costs and to pay for speakers at meetings, which now cost £40 a time. This year they got an additional £350 from Greasley councillor, David Taylor, but they have not yet decided what they are spending it on. The ladies meet at the Horse and Groom pub on the first Wednesday of each month.
