National Grid is inviting people in Langley Mill to an information event to find out more about gas mains work going on in the town.
An information bus with full details of the scheme will be at the Car Wash opposite Wesley Street on Station Road on October 17 and 18 from 9am to 4.30pm.
National Grid is replacing almost 350 metres of old metal gas mains with new hard-wearing plastic pipe which will last 80 years.
Phase one starts on October 24 when Cromford Road will be closed at the junction with A608 for about two weeks.
Phase two and three will see temporary traffic lights at the junction of Wesley Street and Acorn Shopping Centre and at the junction of the shopping centre and Milnhay Road.
Altogether the work is predicted to last about six weeks.
