Lady Chatterley’s Lover, one of Eastwood-born author DH Lawrence’s most famous works, is to be adapted as part of a new series of BBC dramas.

Jed Mercurio, the man behind Line of Duty, has been given the task of adapting the novel, which is internationally renowned.

The programme will be part of a run focusing on classics of the last century, including J B Priestley’s An Inspector Calls.
