Lighting plan moves forward

Councillors are pushing ahead with plans to install lighting on the multi-use games area (MUGA) in Kimberley.

We reported in last week’s Advertiser how plans were temporarily put on hold to put lighting on the Stag Ground’s MUGA and on a nearby pathway after a resident living nearby complained about light pollution to his property.

But Kimberley town councillors agreed to put a shield on the pathway light that would shine onto the gardens in Noel Street in a recent meeting, and this week submitted a planning application to Broxtowe Borough Council for the new-look lights to be installed.

The lights on the games area itself will enable youngsters to play football in the evenings now the nights are drawing in.
