The Deputy Mayor of Broxtowe visited the Brinsley Art Trail last weekend.

Cllr Susan Bagshaw, a keen gardener, visited summer houses, workshops and marquees that were adapted by artists on the gardens in Moorgreen.

More than 100 people attended the event, which was put on by five artists, including textilers, photographers, a landscape artist and a pyrographer, as part of the Open Stduios Notts event.

Refreshments were on offer at the event, with all money raised being donated to Brinsley Animal Rescue Centre.

Children were also invited to draw, collage and paint throughout the day.

Jackie Ward, of TreeHuggery, who helped organise the event, said that the Deputy Mayor really enjoyed herself.

She added: “It is the first year we have done the Art Trail and we had a really good attendance.

“The sun shone for us and we raised over £120.”
