The Midlands German Shepherd Rescue Centre raised £1,200 for their charity during a day at Pets at Home in Giltbrook where shoppers could fuss and play with the dogs.
The event coincided with a small animal workshop weekend at the store, which included a tombola and a drawing competition, and children could hold and fuss rabbits and Guinea pigs.
This smaller event raised over £300 for the rescue centre, based at North Lodge Kennels in Derby.
It is a small rehoming centre that takes in abandoned and mistreated German shepherds and carse for them until new homes are found for them. Our photo shows the cheque being presented to the charity.
