A radio appeal seeking support for a charity event prompted Nuthall school teacher Hannah Lishman (pictured) to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of Macmillan Curie Cancer Care.

The outcome exceeded all expectations with more than 100 people turning out at Nuthall’s Temple Centre to give Hannah, who lives in Nuthall, to raise a whopping £820 which includes Gift Aid.

“ What started out as a small fundraiser — the most we expected to raise was around £200 — turned out to be an event that exceeded all expectations and I am thrilled with the outcome,” said Hannah who is a year 3 teacher at Hempshill Hall Primary.

“ I would like to thank my family, friends, work colleagues, and people in the local community who have been very generous.”
