Boost from bank for Eastwood Age Concern

Support for Eastwood Age Concern from the town’s TSB branch has continued withe the bank presenting a cheque for £228.

The link-up began when Age Concern treasurer and trustee Josie Marsters was approached by Lisa Naylor from Eastwood TSB.

She explained that they wanted to assist and support where possible a local community service. Josie reacted with delight and encouraged Lisa and her team to visit the Age Concern service.

Lisa and her manager took up the offer and on their first visit donned aprons and waited on tables and served members. They were well received by our and intend to return.

They then decided to run a raffle in the bank and collected £228.16 from the sale of raffle tickets was collected from the sale of raffle tickets and the winner of a prize hamper was local man Brian Griffin, of Chewton Street. Lisa told Age Concern she was delighted to support the service and recognised the need in this area.

Age Concern Eastwood is a small charity that is part of a network of Age Concerns in the Nottinghamshire area. It has members travelling from as far afield as Underwood and Nuthall village and serves in excess of 110 meals, Monday to Thursday. Please ring 01773 714596 for more details.

Josie said the monies could be used to provide an afternoon of entertainment for service users and staff from TSB would be invited.
