Children with cancer will benefit from £8,000 after bus operator Trentbarton staged a string of fundraising events to mark the firm’s 100th birthday.

The company, based at Langley Mill, chose the Lewis Mighty Fund as its nominated charity for its centenary year.

Now all the cash has been collected and £8,000 has been presented to the fund, which is part of Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

Barbara Cathcart, chief executive of the charity, said: “We were delighted when Trentbarton chose the Lewis Mighty Fund as the firm’s nominated charity during such a special year for the business.”
