An Eastwood firm has won two high profile contracts – one with Tesco and one with the world’s second largest retailer, the French giant Carrefour.
Eastwood MP Gloria De Piero was invited to Microlise at the end of last month to share their good news.
Gloria said; “I loved every minute of the visit and I’m incredibly proud that a leading firm like Microlise calls Eastwood home and that so many employees are from the area itself.
“There was a real buzz about the place and it’s not hard to see why with news that two massive contracts are already in the bag.”
The firm is also currently working with a global automotive company on a multi-million pound deal.
Bosses went on to tell the MP they had concerns about the shortage of skilled software developers and about the support available from the Department for Trade and Industry.
The firm in Farrington Way specialises in developing and manufacturing electronic software management systems to assist with the logistical side of businesses operations.
It looks after the logistical systems of every Kellogs warehouse in Europe.
The deal with Tesco will see over 3,000 vans in the supermarket’s fleet using software developed to track and monitor the vehicles safety and performance.
