A campaign to educate locals on the distinctive smell of cannabis has backed by Nottinghamshire Police.
Thousands of homes across Nottinghamshire will receive cannabis ‘scratch and sniff’ cards through the letterbox this week. They include a panel laced with the drug’s particular odour and also feature guidance on the other telltale signs of cannabis cultivation.
In support of the cards the police will be honing in on hotspots for cannabis grows. Insp David Cain, leading the force’s involvement in the Crimestoppers campaign, said: “Residents are in the best position to identify cannabis in their neighbourhoods. You are the eyes and ears of your community and we count on you to share with us what you know.”
