Charity praise for community help

An Eastwood charity wants to thank local folk for their donations of jam jars.

Communities Against Poverty put an appeal in the Advertiser asking for small jars they could sell buttons in at an up coming craft fair.

Charity volunteer Angela Smith said: “As ever people have been really helpful. I couldn’t ask for a better community.

“We would also like to thank the White Peacock for acting as a collection point.”

The buttons will be sold at the craft fair on January 25 from 10am to 2pm at The Wood Gallery in Eastwood.

Money raised will help fund community events such as the Brinsley Headstocks.
