Council helps locals to buy a property

Broxtowe Borough Council is helping first-time buyers in Eastwood and Kimberley get onto the property ladder.

The borough council and Nottinghamshire County Council have each set aside £500,000 which should help around 40 buyers on to the property ladder through the Local Lend a Hand scheme, which is now available at Lloyds Bank.

The scheme will help buyers who can afford a mortgage, but have not previously been able to build up the necessary deposit.

Leader of Broxtowe Council, Cllr Milan Radulovic said: “We are delighted to help local people onto the property ladder and hope it provides a boost to the local economy.”
