Figures have been released showing how Nottinghamshire faired as a county in the recent education league tables.
Notts pupils achieved higher than the national average in their GCSEs last year for the second year in a row.
63.4 per cent achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths – a 2.8 per cent increase on 2012.
The national average was 59.2 per cent.
John Peck from Nottinghamshire County Council said: “A contributing factor is our Improvement Strategy which forges partnerships between successful schools and weaker schools.”
