Crime increase in Eastwood South

Eastwood South saw a dramatic increase in crimes last month compared to June last year.

The number of offences increased from 54 to 76 incidents — a rise of 22.

The greatest area of increase was in vehicle crime, with eight incidents in June compared to none in June 2013, and the number of burglaries in the area also shot up from just one last year to five this year.

However, the number of robberies and criminal damage offences recorded in the area had decreased in June 2014 compared to last year.

Eastwood North reported a small increase of three crimes from 13 in June 2013 to 16 last month.
