More than 1,000 people turned out for Eastwood’s play day — making it the biggest play day Broxtowe Borough Council has ever held in the town.
The family-orientated event included pedalo boats, inflatables, puppet shows, drumming workshops, circus tricks, dance and art workshops which children of all ages could get involved with.
There were even live performances throughout the day from children’s entertainers Macamu and Johnny and the Raindrops.
This was the fourth Play Day organised by Broxtowe Council this summer and Councillor Ian Tyler, portfolio holder for bringing people together, was delighted that it had been so well attended.
He said: “The council is incredibly proud of its excellent track record of providing summer play opportunities over the years which can offer families the chance to enjoy an afternoon out together, have fun and get creative all right on their doorsteps.
“The Eastwood Play Day was a brilliant event and there was a fantastic turnout, making it one of the biggest play days the council have organised in the town.
“There was a wide range of activities for both younger and older children and even the sun shone to keep spirits high.”
