Community event.

Visitors to Colliers Wood at Moorgreen will get a rare chance to get involved with an insect survey alongside the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Entomological Society (DaNES) as part of their centenary celebrations.

The event is today (Friday August 29) and locals can help identify the insects among the grassland, woodland and water habitats.

The society members will be on hand to explain the nature of the insects observed, their names and their
habits

A moth survey will take place in the evening to make use of bright lights to attract the moths.

The event is free and there is no need to book
