Whey hey it’s spring!

The daffodils are dancing, the snowdrops have made an appearance, the trees have new leaves and it’s all looking lovely.

Each day is bringing us a new promise of hope and good luck in the way of another budding flower or berry.

How exciting to think of all the activity that is happening under our feet during the winter months.

I don’t know about you, but spring is my favourite time of the year. The lighter nights, wonderful colours are surrounding us with cheerfulness and glimpses of what is around the corner.

I suppose that we have to go through the dark, gloomy winter months to appreciate the beauty of spring and summer, maybe I am wrong.
Should we look for the beauty in every season? Are the seasons like people? We like some and enjoy their company, but some we just put up with!
One thing that I do enjoy is looking forward to all of the lovely events that communities are planning. School fairs, village fetes, music festivals and such like. I think that this is a great way of getting spirits lifted and bringing people together.
In the current climate of constant reminders of the negative things in life, it’s really lovely to have something to look forward to.
What do you look forward to in the calendar year? I know that the children would probably say Christmas, followed by long school holidays! Gosh, how I remember thinking that the summer holidays were just amazingly endless. It seemed a lifetime away that you would be taking a trip to WHSmith’s to get your new stationery for the autumn term.
So, I am going to sit back and enjoy spring and summer and then appreciate the other two seasons, so that we can do it all again next year.
Enjoy the sunshine and have fun!
